 The social and economic situation of Senegal is characterized by an economic crisis, combined with rapid urbanization and that is
uncontrolled. This process is reflected by high inequality both between city and countryside, and within cities.
Twenty years have transformed Dakar, a city "on the brink of implosion", cohabitation of modern cities and
slums, poor infrastructure, insecurity, unemployment ...
To address this profound economic crisis and mass poverty and it causes, the
Senegaleses began to organize themselves in neighborhoods and in the villages. ACAPES is this
autonomous social movement supporting strategies against poverty and exclusion.

 In response to specific concerns, the Community Health Program takes into account some strategic philosophical, educational and technical specifications defined by ACAPES given its own vision of future roles, positions and responsibilities.
It acts to train community health promoters working with elements of health education and prevention, with simple techniques that solve some health problems base.
That's why this programs have been introduced such as the fight against AIDS in schools and vocational education.
